Raja Eileen Soraya graduated from the London School of Economics & Political Science, London, with a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours in 1993 and was called to the English Bar. She is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, London. Eileen spent a year reading in the Chambers of Farrars Building, Temple in London and later returned to Malaysia where she read in chambers with a legal firm in Kuala Lumpur. She was called to the Peninsular Malaysian Bar in January 1997 and joined Raja, Darryl & Loh in 1998 as an associate. Eileen was admitted into the partnership of Raja, Darryl & Loh in 2001. She currently handles a litigation of portfolio of civil and commercial matters, specialising in amongst others, medical and media law. Her practice in medical law includes the defense of doctors and hospitals at civil trials and representations of medical practitioners at disciplinary inquiries. She also regularly advises doctors and hospitals on various legal and ethical aspects involved in healthcare.
Eileen is currently the Vice-President (Legal) of the Medico-Legal Society of Malaysia. She was a contributor to the Malaysian Annotated Statutes on the Defamation Act, 1957 and the Sedition Act, 1948 published by Lexis Nexis. She also contributed to the Defamation chapter of the Malaysian Atkin's Court Forms.
