Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology from Coventry University, Fernandez started off his career in the banking industry before stepping into the realm of people and brand development. It has been more than 9 years now that he has been consulting, developing and conducting strategic initiatives for organizations to have brand consistencies with its people.
In 2003, he joined SQ Centre of Singapore Airlines working with large organizations to develop programs that nurture customer centric cultures, congruent with service charters. He worked to develop brand strategies with management, co-relating to its people and processes.
In 2005, he was leading programs at Australian based company Teamworks, focusing on experiential outdoor-programs. He facilitated branding the company’s EcoGames series, an adventure race that made an international debut.
In the same year, Fernandez worked on the pioneering team to train and execute quality control of the Character Building Module for the National Service Program of Malaysia. To date, programs for the character Building modules are used for youth development.
In 2007, he founded an organization called Live & Inspire, focusing on growing the consciousness of the world in celebration of humanity. The global work facilitates discoveries through creative initiatives. His vision is to create a buzz of a new culture that concentrates on the involution of individuals and corporations. The involution is an organic transformation that inculcates the values of living and functioning in harmony to create new realities. Live & Inspire continues to build the following initiatives.
- The Live & Inspire Online Magazine, a magazine that reports on Happy News. The Live & Inspire Series featuring inspiring individuals at the grassroots of Malaysia. The series have been produced and running live, for more than 56 weeks in the public domain of Starbucks, a testimonial of purely using digital media for a sustainable cause.
- The Gathering of Great Minds series, the world’s first conference party featuring 24 speakers with various themes. The conference party featured the legendary Patch Adams. The platform sold out its entire event passes via digital media.
- Gratitude Mondays, a creative project focused on shifting the perception of Mondays.
- Create Resonance – a consultancy and implementation project focused on creatively building brand reach via social media initiatives.
Fernandez scope of work have extended into nurturing people and brands at Maybank, Shell, MISC, British American Tobacco, Assunta Hospital, Sunway Medical Centre, Sunrise, Fuji Xerox, Maxis, non-profit organizations regionally. Today, more organizations such as Starbucks, Borders Malaysia, Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Prince Court Medical Centre and Institute of Bankers Malaysia work with Fernandez to develop creative brand strategies (ranging from new age media to service culture) that engage its people and markets.
In May 2010, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW, UK) and MultimediaSuperCorridor (MSC) awarded Live & Inspire to be the most engaging youth platform – for its initiatives of engaging and bridging the online – onground gap.
In October 2010, The New Straits Times featured Fernandez as Inspiring Young Malaysian.
In December 2010, global non-profit organization Friends To Mankind awarded Fernandez the Young Leadership Award and endorsed Live & Inspire as a Friends-to-Mankind corporation, for its work with humanity at large.
In June 2011, Fernandez was awarded Malaysia’s Youth Icon by the Ministry of Youth & Sports Malaysia.
