A formal safety committee is not the only way. In small organizations, it may be as effective to have all employees attend a monthly or quarterly (at a minimum) safety meeting during which safety issues and concerns are discussed and recent incidents and injuries are reviewed. As long as employee input is solicited, such a group can also accomplish the safety committee's stated duties.
